Turn On the Power

Turn On the Power

Turn On the Power

Today’s Scripture:
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
(James 5:16, NKJV)

Quote of the day:

The original word “fervent” is the etymology of our word for “energy.” It suggests the idea that electricity is energizing the way it energizes circuits. You can plug a light into an electrical outlet, but it’s useless without power. Today’s Bible speaks of effective and fervent prayer – not weak prayer, not lethargic prayer, not the same prayer repeated daily without passion. Praying will give you tremendous power.
“God, I know I don’t deserve it, but you can help me if you want.” They don’t energize the circuit with this prayer. Melancholy prayers do not bring strength. Turn it around, “Thank you, Father, for opening doors that no human can shut. Thank you for letting me overflow and taking me to places I couldn’t go alone.” An earnest, passionate, and courageous prayer. Power on.

Prayer for today:

“Father, I thank you for the strength that comes as I pray to you with fervour and passion. I believe in listening and acting on it. In the name of Jesus, Amen.”
