No More Slavery

You say, “I am allowed to do anything”– but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
(1 Corinthians 6:12, NLT)

Word of the day:

There’s a lot we can do and get through this. There can be a temper, a negative attitude or a critical spirit, but that is not beneficial. When you let your emotions control you, you can’t go any further. You will survive, but it will be much less than what you were made to do. The apostle Paul said that he would become a slave to zero. When we let our emotions rule us, we become slaves to anger, lust, and self-pity. Because we let the flesh, our carnal nature sit on the throne as if we serve these things, held by their power.

But I believe it is a new day for us, and the flesh is being dethroned. No more slavery, no more emotional control. I stood up and said: “Feeling, you are not my boss. Meat, you will not run my life. I take the throne. I will make a decision that will lead me to my destiny.”

A prayer for today:

Father, thank You that I can choose to be disciplined and say no to the flesh and its desires. Thank you that every day I can take my emotions off the throne and not be a slave to anything. Help me do what is right and move towards my destiny. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
