Join the Party

Today’s Scripture:
“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
(Luke 15:31–32, NIV)

Word of the day:

In Luke 15, the prodigal son’s brother was furious when his father threw a party to celebrate the return of the prodigal son, which he refused to go to. He said, “Dad, I always do what you ask, but you never even gave me a skinny goat. My brother has done so many bad things, how can you kill a fat calf for him? You can hear his bitterness.

However, this bitterness did not stop the party; it just keeps him out of the party. Sometimes we cling to unforgiveness, anger, and resentment, thinking it hurts others when it just hurts us. Are you letting bitterness or disappointment stop you from enjoying today? Why not give up and go to the party? Life happens. There’s a party going on. Today is a gift. Don’t let a bad childhood stop you from leaving the party. Don’t let a divorce or breakup make you bitter and sit on the sidelines of life. Enter the party.

A prayer for today:

“Father, thank you for today being your gift to me and for having a celebration going on. Thank you for not having to sit on the sidelines in unforgiveness or bitterness about things that have happened. happen. I declare that I remove everything that might prevent me from joining the party. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
