God Rewards Obedience

Today’s Scripture
“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession…”
(Exodus 19:5, NIV)

Word of the day
Sometimes God asks us to do meaningless things. Doesn’t seem logical. It doesn’t fit in our budget. It doesn’t fit into our schedule. “God, do you want me to go back to college? I am 40 years old. “I saved that money for my dream.” Or, “God, do you want me to leave this secure position I’ve had for so many years and start my own business?” Too often we overanalyze it. We argue about it. Look natural. We end up making excuses and telling ourselves, “This is not God.” You just do it, even if it makes no sense. That is faith.

If you can understand everything and control time, money and everything, you don’t need faith. God asks you to do extraordinary, unusual, and unrealistic things. Every act of obedience is blessed. If you do what you know God wants, blessings will follow. God rewards obedience!

Today’s prayer
“Father, today I have decided to follow you. I have let go of trying to reason everything in my head and have decided to trust in you. Thank you for rewarding me for your obedience. Amen.”
