God is love
Today’s Scripture:
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
(1 John 4:16, NIV)
Word of the day:
Sometimes religion tells us, “Clean yourself, then God will love you.” If you don’t do the right thing, if you don’t do the right thing, God has nothing to do with you. If you are good enough, if you are capable enough, then God will help you. That’s not real love; it’s conditional love. True love is not about your achievements, or what you do or don’t do. It’s about who God is and what he’s done. There’s nothing you can do to make him love you more or less. He simply loves you.
When you know that God is love and you rely on His love for you, you will trust Him. You will pray bold prayers, you will ask Him to grant your dreams, you will believe that your health will recover, you will expect new doors to open, and you will Go to new heights – not because of who you are, but because of who you are. Who is your father? When you receive His love, you will stop trying to be good enough. You know He will do everything he can for your good.
A prayer for today:
“Father, thank you for loving me because you are love, that it is not only what you do but who you are. Thank you for not having to clean me up to win your love or make me love you more I receive your love and I’m counting on You to show me in my life In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
